The ACT Container Deposit Scheme (ACT CDS) encourages ACT residents to reduce litter and the number of containers going to landfill.

Eligible containers under the Scheme include the majority of glass, plastic, aluminium, steel and paper-based cartons that are between 150 millilitres and 3 litres.

The ACT operates three collection types;
1.     Drop & Go Point
2.     Drop & Go Pod
3.     Cash-back Depot

Consumers receive a 10-cent refund for each eligible container and can choose to receive a cash refund, an electronic refund or make a charitable donation.

The ACT CDS return point operator is called Return-It. Return-It operate both depot and express (Drop & G0) return points.
